Great Saturday ride for Allan
The saturday ride for Allan was very cool. Here's the way I remember Allan:

It's still a tough one to really believe. Saturday was a great way to show tribute. There were so many people out to memorialize Allan. I witnessed some serious comradery. Good feelings all around. So many people really went deep into their wallets to help Jenny and Odessa. Very impressive.
So we're in the stay-off-the-bike month for Dave. I'm already having a rough time even though I got to spend a bit of time Saturday on the bike. I've been doing some trail running and that's all fine and good, but everyone keeps calling me to say, "You should race cyclocross." I know! However, the great desire to do some insane 'cross racing is being pushed to the side so that I can be ready for the road season. On a related note, I made my checkup visit to the burn unit today. It was just to check up on the skin situation and they said things are going good, but that I need to give it a break from racing and the potential for crashing. There are a few spots that are still very sensitive. We're coming up on 5 months since the first/worst episode! No worries though, they said. So...stop telling me I need to do 'cross! I wish it was in the cards this year. Maybe next.
Tomorrow is my fit checkup with brother Mike Hanseen...the man with the plan! We're going to double check my fit measurements to make 100% sure things look good. It's almost like being on the bike for an hour, but you don't get to pedal.
I was also trying to listen to some cool music today while I sit here working away. ACME by Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, a long list of tracks by the Pixies, and I'm still on the Clinic kick.
Who wants to run some trails around lunch time behind the University?
