interviews, pain cave, general holiday craziness
alright folks, all of the interview requests are great. however, there are a few that i'm just not going to be able to manage, barring the request that i interview Jim Morrison. he's a neighbor of mine, recently moved from Paris and still kinda chubby, like that L.A. Woman album cover. he figured Draper, UT would be a mellow place to locate himself and Ray Manzarek probably wouldn't be able to find him here. he is still as cool as ever, even without the leather pants.
as for the other interview requests, the Pope is out. i asked the wrong questions a few years ago to the Pro-Nuncio at a press conference at the Cathedral of the Madeliene rededication and i am on their list. i don't want to interview "W"...no thanks. i don't care if the chief of staff called me up to ask for "W" to be interviewed...i'm not doing it! i do want to interview 'the man with the plan' Jon Spencer although i think those turn more into a ranting and raving crazy-fest (check out any kcrw.com Morning Become Eclectic performance with Blues Explosion). finally, the short list of impossible interviews ends with Bono. i know he is going to be in town tomorrow for the concert...i don't have tickets and he's cooler than cool, so if Bono or any of your people are reading this...call me.
seriously people, send in some more of your ideas. i keep waiting on #1 to send in his answers. i tried to keep the questions level-headed, but he may just be receiving a new set of more timely questions. let's move on now.
the pain cave is in full session. #1 tries to kill me every thursday night with this "do everything" kind of effort. sitting, standing, one-legged, all-out. i see that workout on my schedule and i dread it the entire week. there's something not right about finishing the all-out portion in the basement on the trainer listening to the washer and dryer hum along and be so delirious that you think you just won a sprint ahead of Ale-Jet. it takes me a good hour to come back to solid ground.
the delirium could also be due to the fact that i'm on my long hour week and we've been doing lots of holiday shopping for family/friends/loved ones. alright people, again, let's get some commentary/feedback going here. this is not a lecture, it should be more like a seminar. everyone read the material in advance and come prepared to discuss.
i almost forgot the additional feature we have scheduled here at dhblog.com...we're asking for readers to submit their best & worst cycling-related photos. interpret best & worst any way you would like, but come one, keep the pictures decent. here are my submissions for best & worst cycling-related photos...try to guess best & worst:

i wonder what #1 is doing right now...
