Race the DMV

The A-train called me on contest exclusion last night as we warmed up at the RMR. I told him that with his superior band knowledge that it probably registered without even knowing there was a contest. I am going to have to go back on my contest rules and declare him the winner. If I can find the used set of Crank Bros. Eggbeater cleats, they are all yours A-train. By the way, A-train threw down last night at the RMR and was in the action finishing 3rd I believe. Nice job.

I’m going to have to come up with another contest because I have a Michelin Pro Race tire with about 1800 winter training miles on it that would be an excellent contest prize. In the meantime, I remembered a hilarious comic strip that I used to read often called Red Meat. It previously was printed in the City Weekly and even further back in the Daily Utah Chronicle. Go to www.redmeat.com and check out the Fresh Meat for the latest or to the Meat Locker to sort by character. Any of the comics with Ted, Milkman Dan or The Old Cowboy are quality. It will make you laugh even though you probably shouldn’t.

In other news, the kids are lighting it up with swim team. They had a swim meet on Monday night and the killer-instinct is growing in both of them. I keep expecting them to tell me to not bug them so much because as soon as they’re out of the water I’m trying to constructively point out how they could have gone faster. Funny thing is they always agree and say they’ll give it a try it the next time they swim that event. Dozza had to make them get out of the pool last night after swim team practice and some additional work with the coaches. I like to hear those kind of reports from practice time and I told them both that they will only be going faster at the next meet which makes them get excited. J-dorade improved all of her personal bests in the 5 events she raced and J-vanator did the same except for the backstroke which he is still figuring out. Exciting stuff.

OK, the contest for the Michelin Pro Race tire with 1800 winter miles is the following: Place your decision now if you think the Astana-Wurth team will be allowed to race or not. Post your decision in the comments. Also post your pick for who will win the Prologue on Saturday. That still leaves it open for duplication, so also post your pick for who will finish 10th in the Prologue. This should be a complicated enough algorithm to determine a winner.

1. Wurth will ride the Tour
2. David Millar wins the prologue
3. Tom Boonen is 10th in the prologue

What color is the tire?  I could probably give it to Sly and he'd find somebody to buy it for $20 on eBay.

2. David Millar will win the prologue
3. 10th place?....its gotta be Fred Rodriguez

I could use another beater training tire...is there any usable tread?  Do I need to fill in holes with super glue?
