The DMV was successful on many fronts this week. First, I didn’t get a flat! That has been such a pain. Out of the previous 4 DMV races prior to last night, I flatted twice and won twice. AJ, BadMF and I lined up with the rest of the crowd and we got rolling. Stormin’ has taken over my from-the-gun-attack move and so he lit it for the first lap. Us Porcalized boys then tried to make some stuff happen and before long, BadMF is off the front drilling it.

To make this race report all the more exciting, I need to tell a quick story that happened on Tuesday. BadMF’s son went down hard on Tuesday riding his bike. He broke his collarbone and ended up with quite a few patches of severe road rash. I can feel his pain all too well, the poor guy. Well, he shows up to the DMV standing there in the blistering heat bandaged and slinged and is cheering away for us each time we come up the hill. Now that is motivating!

I forgot to mention that BadMF started his solo move around 10 minutes into the 45 minute race. OUCH! A few attacks try to go across, but everyone quickly realizes that AJ and I are going to be riding every attack. It was lots of fun watching AJ attack with about 15 minutes to go and get away solo and then sit in until 2 to go. By the way, Rovals spin super fast down the hill and motor around the turns. Post-race, it was fun to hear BadMF’s son tell us how he watched the tactics unfold.

On to swimming news. Last night J-dorade beat her personal best in the 50-freestyle by 2 seconds! The other night she got some block-dive instruction and some breathing tips and she lit it up! She’s turning into quite the swim competitor spending lots of hours training and lots of focus on rest and preparation. The best is that she’s proud of her accomplishments and realizes they are coming from hard work.

Sort of TdF spoiler for 13 July…no results, just talk of an abandon today…so if you don’t want to know, don’t scroll!

Hey prize wieners…make sure to get in touch on how you’d like to pick up your prizes! My next contest was going to be answering on which stage would Iban Mayo drop out, but he did today. Sorry, I hope the disclaimer caught your attention and didn’t spoil some of the cycling news for today. I’ll try to think up something good for another contest.
