Road cycling is more dangerous than Moto-X

I was bummed last night at the RMR when I saw there was a crash in the B-flite on what seemed would be the finale. There were people on the right side of the drag strip about 250 meters from the finish. A few were on the ground and I could tell there were quite a few involved. As we passed by I could see a Porcupine/Specialized jersey on the guy laying on the ground. I tried to remember the headcount of who showed up last night. I remembered that only DC and Anheuser were in the B-flite since Team Rico decided to play in the A-flite last night. As we continued down the strip I saw DC and so I knew it was Anheuser laying on the pavement.

Earlier this year, Anheuser decided he was ready to get back to motorcycles. He bought a sweet road ride and he's even motorpaced the Porcalized crew on it. Then he couldn't stand it any longer and he went out and bought MotoX for the whole family. I've been worried on two fronts ever since. First, if he's got these sweet motos, when is he going to ride his bike? Second, how long will it be before he takes a wipe-out trying to clear a double with some mad skill tricks? So he's been spending lots of time at the moto track tearing it up and hasn't had any serious problems.

When D-oza and I stopped at the hospital while he was in the emergency room, Moto-girl (who has her own moto-x bike and is already wanting to get more CCs) reminds us of how much gear Anheuser wears on the moto and how little gear he wears on his bike. He was showing some butt-cheek last night through the torn bibs, something that maybe would have scuffed the leathers at best on the moto. So today Anheuser is at home resting up from a full night in the ER. He's always ready to go out for a long ride and I hope he's back on the bike soon.

Team Porcalized update: Team Rico and BadMF kept things rolling in the pack last night at the RMR. The boys knew that DH was trying to roll some speed into the legs for next week's suffer-fest and so they kept me out of trouble. Team Rico, as mentioned above, made his debut in the A-flite with a great show of strength, riding in the top 7 or 8 all night. BadMF did his usual throw-down of long pulls that stretch the field out. Again, great job! Watch out for the boys at the DMV tonight. They will be throwing down.

TOFU update: I just realized that with the time cut %age on the TT day that I won't be able to get a recovery ride in and that I'll have to be going at about 163% of my maximum ability.

Diet update: Thanks to G$ at Specialized, I was able to cut the fruit juice diet short. The bike for the hills has lost a little over 2 pounds.  That's 2 pounds that don't have to be trimmed off my biceps.

Contest update: Who will win the opening stage of TOFU? Get your entries in quick for some classic prizes. I've still got the previous contest prizes in my possession. I guess I should get them distributed. Prize list to be posted soon.
