Just like a wheel inside a wheel…
I wonder if the Talking Heads were the real inspiration for spinner wheels. I hope not.
On Friday night, the Utah cyclocross season opened. I was able to reconfirm the difficulty of cross without any doubts. Crispy confirmed without a doubt that he is an incredibly tough cross racer. I had a feeling that he would be throwing down, but he went way past that. I finally got myself rolling about half way into the 30 minute race (shortened because of no more daylight).
I picked up F-burns cross bike on Thursday night and got to the park to see if I could still ride a bike off of pavement or a packed dirt road. I was pleased to see I could still dismount/mount without landing on my face. With 30 minutes of practice on Thursday I was ready to do what I could Friday night. I knew Sly would be there ready to rip the dh in the big ring so that made me a bit nervous once I rode the course. Best thing about the evening was racing a cross bike. It’s been 3 years and I had a blast. Running through the barriers and up the steeper part of the hill was a riot.
So, it’s only the first weekend post-race season and I’ve got one step further on a home project and ended up listing some stuff on ebay. Sweet! I think it’s about time to get Utah Pro Cycling presented by… back on the radar. We had plenty of interest last fall but no one was ready to sign any checks. If it wasn’t for the doggies destroying so much stuff around the house I’d be able to put a full pursuit into the creation of Utah Pro Cycling presented by… with Rocco and Bella as mascots!
