Straight Outta PROvo...

Blogging is so '06. Blog-quitting is this years' blogging.
Return to the frozen tundra...and whatever else.

Ok, I am back from Sedona.  We had a nice drive home, it was warm and sunny and we had a picnic lunch.  Haley remains the road trip master.  Back in the Prove, it was in the 50's when we arrived, not bad.  The next morn, there was snow on the ground.  This is not what I had in mind.  At least we got home before the storm hit.  Last year we drove through a blizzard with post-Turkey-day traffic and it sucked big time.

So with snow on the ground, the Rocky IV training was in full effect.  I couldn't find a log to carry while I jogged through the snow, but I did have Kelly punch me in the guts while I did sit ups.  I felt pretty tough running in the snow 'til I was passed by a bunch of old ladies.  Of course, the loyal reader would know that Rocky is not so much my hero anymore...

And this provides us with a perfect segway to the death of Pat Morita, better known as Mr. Miyagi.  Ralph Machachiapet's (aka- The Karate Kid) words upon hearing of Miyagi's passing, "Forever my sensei".  Seriously, I can't make this stuff up.  I like to kid around about all this stuff, but I am pretty sure that was just a movie.

Other (cycling)news that I didn't comment on while I was out...  SFGP is no more.  This really bums me out.  Pretty much everyone who knows me knows I was a big fan of this race.  I really hoped to do it again.  The last time I was 26th, which I thought was pretty good for a guy with a job, but I was close to doing much better, so I wanted to try, try again.

Philly won't be US Pro anymore... I hope they can keep the race going.  It would be a shame to lose both of these races at the same time.  US Pro will be in Greenville.  Last time I raced there, I found myself on the curb with my (nowadays) teammate Marc "Shut Yer" Yap...

Barrett out.
