Detour of California...and Utah Racing Stuff
Looks like work is shipping me out to Tour of California. I am psyched to go out there, but (there's always a but with me) I have a hard time watching bike races. It is depressing. Seriously, depressing. I know that there's probably a lot of people reading this going, "Is this guy retarded? Send me on that mission!!". I see your point and will now shut up.
I'll try to update the blog while out there... I'm sure there'll be some funny bidness going down.
Looks like I'm going to fRedlands again this year too, so I'll be out that way again next month. Maybe I should just buy a place out there. Hahahaha. If you don't get this, the major motivator for me moving to Utah was the price of housing in CA. Don't get me wrong, I love it here and am waaaay glad to live here.
Things are looking good beyond this. I think I am settling into my new gig and figuring out how to train around it.
I am bummed out that the St. George Stage Race is off. I gathered this was something as a classic as darling wife did it way back when it was the "Chums Classic". I wanted to try and defend the big V I threw down in the road race last year too. I liked that course. Now, I see that the Bryce Canyon SR is cancelled too and we have a couple gaps in the schedule. That sucks.
So, here's a question, why does Utah racing start so late? No racing until April?? (I know there is RMR, but you know what I mean). Maybe next year, I will put on my own "spring classics" down in the UC. The roads are pretty much never snowed over and I doubt they'd be all that hard to get. I should put on 2 cross races in January and then bust into road racing straight in February. Maybe I will go head to head with a certain event in AZ, and call my race "Valley of the Scum". I will probably be too lazy to do this, but it would be good if I did.
