Straight Outta PROvo...

Blogging is so '06. Blog-quitting is this years' blogging.
Redlands Volume One
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..." "Hollywood" Nate Dis-Loyal picked me up at the out-laws house in Long Beach on Thursday and we rolled out to Redlands for the packet pick-up, and manager's meeting. T-Mac, Gordie, and Flash Gordon were already there, and having the info. for Marc-o Polo and Slow-ver, we were nearly dialed in. Everyone riding composite had to forge their team leaders signature to have a release from their team, which was pretty funny as most of them were done in pencil or crayon or some such... so official. The Other Ryan was nowhere to be found and after not seeing him at Scam Dimas, I was a bit worried. Luckily, I had his Mom's phone number, and gave her a ring. She gave me his digits, and he was like "uhhh, yeah, my bikes are being worked on, and then I guess I'll leave San Diego or something". Me:" Ok, well, they just told me that if you don't pick up your packet before the manager's meeting, you are out" Other Ryan: "Yeah, alright." Freaking Canadians. He got in no worries. Anyway, the rest of the gang went for a cruise, and finally got some of the weather I'd been waiting for mid-80's, sunny, and clear. Clear in Redlands is not normal, as smog usually blocks the view. This was crystallized as one racer said it was his 5th time to Redlands before he realized it is surrounded by mountains. Wow. After previewing the TT (not prologue- keep this in mind) course, we hit up the manager's meeting (zzzzzzz), and visited our housing host's sports med center. All I can say about our host is that the guy is full gas, and has an awesome family. We were lucky to have such sweet accomodations, and dinner was ready for us (what??) when we got to the house. Oh yeah, we all had our own beds too... Yeah, this family went above and beyond and we were stoked to stay with them. Anyway, I'll get to the racing (using the term loosely) later I guess.
