Okay, he is now "stabilized" and his "life is no longer in danger", which is very good news when you compare it to the alternative.  I hope that he can recover well, and be back to his old self.

If you don't know Saul broke like half his bones last year in a crash before coming back and winning the Mtn. jersey at L'Avenir and top 10 at Tour of Germany G.C.  He is a tough dude.

I know Saul from doing Tour "de" Okinawa with him in 2002.  He was only like 19, but his strength was pretty evident.  I don't know him much beyond that, but he struck me as a really nice and funny kid.  Again, here's hoping he is back to his old self soon!!
