Straight Outta PROvo...

Blogging is so '06. Blog-quitting is this years' blogging.
Booth Bleeds Blood, the Loop, whatevers
So, it turns out Elder Sleevie is not, in fact, a cyborg. On our ride yesterday, he hit some train tracks in Pregnant Grove and turfed it pretty good. Making matters worse, he'd crashed dirtbiking last week, so he reopened all his wounds. Like every other dirtball bike racer, his first thought was of his beloved steed, which came through relatively unscathed. Too bad the same can't be said for him. I don't think he has an inch of flesh that isn't "cheese gratered", scarred, or at least tatooed. Heal up, Ace!! So, prior to Mike's run in with the pavement, our plan was to ride up to the top of ye old Alpine Loop and hit some more climbs, and finally ride the Thanksgiving Point Crit. Alas, I was left to ride alone. Luckily, I brought the Ipod. Unluckily, I didn't bring a pump, but I'll get to that in a minute. Rocked it up the climb, it was all epic and stuff with snow and rocks, and other stuff to make me feel tough. We all know I'm not. Anyway, I was railing the descent (see also blue knuckle braking like the old lady in those "Where's the Beef" commercials from my youth), and suddenly the backwheel was all wishy-washy. Uh-oh. Always the beggar, I was counting on Mad Mike to be prepared. So, yeah, I had a nice long, slow drop back 'til I finally found another rider at the American Fork entrance who let me borrow his pump. Missed the start at TP, but didn't care much by the time I got there. Interestingly they ran the A and B groups together... It seems like they will combine them so long as I am not there. Just one puzzle piece in a vast conspiracy against me, I suppose. The good news is the Loop is open. The bad news is it'll be open to cars in 5-7 days (the rangers words), so get up there now , while the gettin's good. Be careful coming down though, as there's still some snow, rocks, streams, etc to crossing the road. To my vast non-Utahan readership, it is summer-time hot here already. Days are in the 90's. I am not complaining, I dig it. What else? Bear Lake Classic this weekend. Always a good time. Two laps around the blue lagoon, making for a cool hundy. I am flaking on the TTT on Sunday because I am a flake like that. That's about it for now. RB

In other news: According to various newsites around the glove, it appears Team Monex is on the verge of combustion.  Apparently 4 riders (by my figuring almost half the team) left in the last couple days including big hitter Gordon McCauley.  Wait, didn't he quit this team already a couple years ago??

You didn't hear? There is a conspiracy against you. I can't remember the exact terms, but it was supposedly going to be UGLY, not to mention long and drawn out. Good luck with that.

Thanks, Sandrosean... I hadn't heard.  It seems like there is a conspiracy to keep the conspiracy against me quiet.  Anymore information you can add would be extremely useful.  Glad to see that you are being as productive as I am at the moment.
PS- The only wave I will give you is a flick of the elbow.
