Straight Outta PROvo...

Blogging is so '06. Blog-quitting is this years' blogging.
Sour Grapes
Ok, so, checking out some "other" blogs out there, I feel compelled to explain our teams' tactics at Bear Lake. Some teams don't like to share this kind of info, but it is no secret with us, and is pretty straight forward: Keep looking for the "right" combination where we "know" we are going to win, then drive the hell out of that break. If we have to settle for a combination we aren't happy with, whoever represents our team has to do WHATEVER (w/o breaking rules, obviously) is required to win the race. Sometimes these tactics don't work out in our favor, this time they did. We aren't out there to prove how strong we are by driving a break that doesn't suit us, and getting beat at the line, as much as you might like that. I sense that this bothers a lot of people, but this is pretty much the same line every team I've ever been on has walked. Short story shorter, we are there to win. Period. Do you need to write period when you already finished with a period? Oh yeah, Elder Sleevie has joined the dark side.

Ummm, sorry I posted this twice.  I guess I just felt THAT strongly about it.  J/K

Yeah, it was all in reference to artoconnor.com and like he said, it's nothing personal.

Wait, didn't you hear? There is a conspiracy against you. It's supposedly pretty ugly, and nasty and will last a long time.

Oh, sorry, I guess I posted that twice.

Welcome to Elder Sleevie (cool name BTW)!

Dark Side?? I don't feel like i'm dark...I certainly don't own a Death Star...yet.

Good luck obtaining a death star.  Interest rates are through the roof and just finding one is tough.
Since Sandy posted, I better say good job to my teammates for winning the TTT at Bear Lake.  Actually, I'll say good job Gardie and Nate because Sandy showed a lack of honor by sitting on the whole time and then outsprinting them at the line.  Wanker.

Okay, so I'm sitting in the hospital, and that made me CRACK UP! Mainly cause I am such a wanker. Props to G-Love for crushing me.

I do know a woman in the real estate biz, so I should be good to go on the Death Star, assuming one comes on the market - I hear they're all the rage in this ever-growing real estate bubble, and when it pops, Death Stars will be the only structures left standing. Plus, they can blow up PLANETS - COOL!

I heard them Death Stars get shitty gas mileage, too.

I swear this is the last thing I'll say about any of this.  Maybe.  Our team is in the enviable position of having won five races in a row.  People will inevitably get upset when one team wins a lot I can understand people calling our tactics into question and I am always up for a debate on it.  We allowed ourselves to be put into a bad position by having only Marc in the break.  In my mind, he did the right thing by sitting on from there because having him alone in the break was not good odds for our team.  However, the position was not bad enough for us to put our team on the front.  I still felt like there was a chance to jump across the gap, which is a way better use of energy than putting the entire team on the front.  But, like I said, I enjoy debating the merits of this kind of riding and I definitely try to show respect for our competition.  What I don't think is really on is when people start questioning the "honor" and "pride" of our team, or its members.
