Straight Outta PROvo...

Blogging is so '06. Blog-quitting is this years' blogging.
Adios Manolo, missionary's positions, summit center, whatever else I com up with...

Legendary director sportif Manolo Saiz gets busted for having more dope than a dead show.  Venga, Venga, Venga!!!

One thing I haven't mentioned about the missionarys (I got 3 'cause I guess they figured I needed A LOT of help) that are showing me the way is that they are all getting into cycling.  How cool is that?  Two of them bought road bikes and the other found a mountain bikes with drop bars, and is upgrading it.  Everytime I see him, it looks a little better.  Yesterday I gave him a sweet set of circa '98 Ultegra STIs.  That may sound like crap to you and I, but considering he had thumb shifters from about '92 (on drop bars), it's a pretty nice step up.  I checked out their set-ups and they were doing the stereotypical-newbie-don't wanna smash my nads-seat aimed down thingie.  Of course, the shop didn't explain to them any of this or what gears to use when or anything much, but they did give 'em a missionary discount, which I guess is pretty cool.  I tried to explain how having a level saddle is better, and hopefully they bought into it.  In any case, these guys are pumped and they spend all of their free time (they don't really get much) working on their bikes.  They tell me when they get back from their missions, they are gonna hit it full tilt.  "Team Elder", they keep saying.  I like it.

As one of the only suckers that can't race Thanksgiving Point this weekend, I am heading down to my mom's in Sedona and racing the Summit Center Classic in Flagstaff.  For those not "in the know", TP is a Cat. 2 only race, but they are doing a 30+ race that most of the 1's are doing.  I am not nearly old enough for master's(i.e.- I'm 29), so I had to look elsewhere.  Actually, I reckon it works out in my favor as I am pretty fond of Mom.  I also think having a 2's only race is a good idea, although I feel sorry for anyone racing as Sandy and Gardie are announcing, so you won't be able to hear yourself think.  Do you think they'll even need microphones??

Anyway, I should probably get something done now, so 'til next time.

Venga, Venga, Venga!!

Umm, there's a conspiracy against you, it's gonna be long and hard and LOUD!! Between you and some others, G-love and I get nothing but smashed out here in web-world. I understand. They always say those that are jealous lash out...you must really want my broke-as-hell-sold-my-one-prized-posession-other-than-a-bike-to-pay-for-med-school-apps-sitting-in-a-cement-lab-all-day life. Good luck this weekend. I told all the AZ boys about the conspiracy, so you're screwed. Enjoy!

No travis, no blog for me. It took me until this March to figure out what a blog was, and where the word BLOG originated. I don't think I have the internet savy to do more than respond to Turbo or post on the forum. Even that took until just a couple of weeks ago to figure out how to do. Now, if you want blood work done....
