Bike Gamer Loses Cage Match Against Car
PROvo, UT Sept. 13, 2006.
Amateur bike gamer Ryan "Turbo" Barrett of the Sienna Development-Goble Knee Clinic Amateur bike gaming team lost in a steel cage match against a late 90's Chrysler today. Barrett was out for an early morning bike practice/bike commute (by bike), when challenged by the vehicle. The match was called when referees took note of the weight difference between the 6'4" 165lb bike gamer and the 2000 lb. plus vehicle. Said Barrett, "This brings my record to 0-2 against cars... On the bright side, I have yet to be K.O.'d in my many years of bike gaming. At least not by a car." Although Barrett protested for a draw, the match was awarded to the car as Barrett was slightly damaged, and the car had not a scratch.
For real kids, keep your head up. Be smart. Wear a helmet. I pity the fool who don't eat my cereal.
It is nice that I can make a joke out of all this, but it could've been really ugly. I wonder sometimes how it is that things have worked out for me the way they have. This is definitely one of those time. I was coming down from Point of the Mtn. on the access road by the 15 and a car turned left right into me. I was probably going 30 and she was probably going 10, and I hit the brakes and swerved, so I hit her rear bumper and just kinda rolled out of it. Be careful out there.
