SIENNA DEV’T.-GOBLE KNEE CLINIC PARTNERS WITH SEVEN AND REYNOLDS

Utah’s Top Team Declares Selves “Best Equipped Amateur Team in the US!”

Salt Lake City, UT (Dec. 07, 2007)- The Sienna Development-Goble Knee Clinic Elite Cycling Team has forged a partnership with Seven Cycles, Reynolds Cycling and Canyon Bicycles of Salt Lake City for the 2007 and 2008 seasons.  The team will be riding Seven’s Elium Race for all road events equipped with Reynolds’ carbon fiber wheels, handlebars, seatposts and other accessories.  The Elium Race is a thoroughbred carbon-fiber and titanium competition bike with a temperament exclusively for road racing, crits, and competitive club rides.  This partnership is largely due to the tireless work of Canyon Bicycles of Salt Lake City and is built upon their shared success with Seven and Reynolds.  Canyon has been a top five US dealer for Seven each of the past six years and was the number two dealer in the US for 2006.  Canyon has been aided by Seven and the use of Reynolds products to successfully establish a high-end niche market in Utah utilizing a completely custom approach which was applied for each team member.

The Sienna Development-Goble Knee Clinic team has demonstrated its inspiring ability to execute as a cohesive team throughout the 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 seasons.  The results speak for themselves: The Sienna Development-Goble Knee Clinic team won 13 races in 2006 and claimed its fifth consecutive #1 Utah Cycling Association team ranking.  The 2007 Men’s Elite Team will once again be comprised of 10 riders for regional and select national events.  Depth, experience, and self-sacrifice characterize the team.  Each rider has a firm commitment to cycling, to each other, and to the team’s partners: a winning combination that has taken the team to the top of the podium.  “The team is almost giddy with anticipation to get on these bikes,” notes team member and former professional cyclist Ryan Barrett.

When are you going to start a Cat 5 team?  You know, reconnect with the common man.  Just let me know where to send my application...  :)

Congratulations and good luck next year.  The Porcupine boys are on some killer bikes too.  I keep telling myself it's the motor that counts but man, all you fast guys are hooked up!

wow.. we sound so cool...

I'm not sure if I have a sensation of whirling and a tendency to fall or stagger, but giddy with excitement will work for me.  Or perhaps you meant exciting and frivolous, although I can't see how our new bikes are of little value...

One way or another that is a nicely written piece you got there.

I better go C + H4, there may be a little riding window right about now

Giddy Up The Turbo.

Looks like SRAM Force for the drivetrain.  Very cool.  And of course Reynolds wheels.  Has anybody mentioned to you guys how spoiled you are?!

# December 13, 2006 8:36 AM

Ryan Barrett said:

Yeah SRAM and Reynolds... Of course, those are the old wheels and we will have the new flash!!

The pups are spoiled... Us old guys have been around long enough that we DESERVE the sweetness.

Or not.

In other news, we've just received reports that The Bird is sitting by the side of the road with 2 flats... and you thought that kinda crap never happened to pros!!

OK, I've been lurking and lurking, looking for a fight, and suddenly the rookie star of The Hard Road does it.

My friend, in cycling the term "old" is not to be thrown about haphazardly. With your 30 minus years and 20 plus years of above average cycling you were rather irreverent in your casual use of "us old guys". "Old" is not just a word, it is a title, and it is to be earned with years of hard mediocrity.  Give it another 5 years and with gradually slipping results you may be able to speak on our behalf.

:-)

Yeah, one day I am the "rookie star" of THR... I go to bed and wake up in Utah with two kids, a mortgage, and (gasp!!) a full-time job.  I may be (to some) young in years, but it's mileage that counts.  Time does not rest.
