Not only did Salt Lake resident pros Jeff Louder and Darren Lill go 2, 3 in the Pro mens race, Utahs own Norm Bryner won the Cat 2 event with Brad Gehrig taking a well deserved 4th overall. Other notables include Burke Swindlehurst 29th Pro men and Chuck Collins 10th 45+.

Registration Extended for hillclimb

Arrangements have been made to extend pre-registration for the Porcupine Hillclimb up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Wednesday evening at 9:00pm. They will be using timing chips this year and need the extra day to accomodate them. More info at www.porcupinecycling.com

Due to the use of timing chips this year at the Porcupine Hill climb, online registration will be closing Tuesday evening July 8^th in order to program the timing chips. In person registration will still be available Thursday and Friday, more info at www.porcupinecycling.com. There will be awards, food and festivities at Brighton along with a live band. All that and the race will be raising money for a good cause: fighting cancer.

Utah Teams for the Tour of Utah

The Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah is pleased to announce two Utah teams
that will be participating. The tour is part of the prestigious 2008
USA Cycling National Racing Calendar and will be held August 13-17.
Invited this year is American RADD or Racers Against Drugs and Doping,
a Utah-based Pro team sponsored by Agel. Captaining that team is
Utah’s Bryson Perry who will be joined by fellow Utahns Cameron
Hoffman, Gardie Jackson and Billy Demong, a Nordic combined Silver
medalist at the World Championships. Joining them will be Tommy Nelson
and Luis Zamudio, both of California. We are also pleased to announce
the Utah All-Stars, a composite team of the best amateurs in Utah and
will be sponsored by Canyon Bicycles in Draper and Blackbottoms. Team
members include current Utah State Champion Todd Hageman, Dave
Harward, Jesse Gordon, Ryan Barrett, Alex Rock, Nate Page and Eric
Pardyak. Good luck guys!

With the 4th of July holiday weekend approaching, we would like to remind everyone to have a safe and fun three days and that there will be no UCA events held. The next UCA event on the calendar will be held the following Saturday: the Porcupine Hillclimb up Big Cottonwood Canyon. More info at www.porcupinecycling.com. Also note that the Farmington Crit has been postponed, we will forward information as it becomes available.

High Uintas points are all entered; stages and DNF's, so please let me know if you find an error. The format I get from them is very cumbersome and there is a very human element involved in the translation that has a high margin of error: ME! Also, the Farmington Crit has been postponed to a later date that will be announced. Finally, get up to Pocatello this weekend for Gate City Grind; in the opinion of this author, it was always my favorite Stage Race. www.idahocycling.com

The big daddy Utah stage race is here! Saturday June 21st and Sunday June 22nd the City of Evanston celebrates the 20th anniversary of this classic event.
