    Re: 2008 Calendar

I love the idea of doubling up races on the weekend (especially early in the season) and some early season races in the south. It would be nice to have a couple free weekends in the spring / early summer, as it stands now once we start with HON on 4/5 there is a race scheduled every weekend through 8/9 with the exception of 4th July w/e - makes it tough to schedule any other activities. I know a couple races will likely drop off the schedule due to various issue, but until that happens you really can't schedule anything without having to give up a race - and I like to do em all.....

You make perfect sense billy-bob. Sundays are by far and away the safest days to hold an event. Saturdays are crazy in Utah because so many people are trying to cram in two days activity in to one day. That is why most of us do our long rides on Sunday; am I right? I respect peoples rights to choose not to participate in certain events on Sundays. But should that affect the majority of us who are more interested in safety and common sense? Why not put it to a true test of democracy and hold a vote? There are a lot of us being held ransom to the "no races on Sunday" phenom. Let's do what is right for the safety of all the participants and the good of the sport; and not let ourselves get pulled down into what is right or wrong on Sunday. Those things should be conducted on a different platform altogether.
