RMR Crit Series Questions

With the RMR Crit series just around the corner, I have two questions:

1 - Is each crit result reported to the USAC, thereby counting towards an upgrade?

2 - Does one need a timing chip for the crit series?

Thanks for everyone that puts on the RMR events as well as everyone that was supportive and offered advise to an obvious novice racer. After participating in the final few events I am hooked. I will be back this spring with a license and number plate to enjoy the action and camaraderie.

Last night (4/21/9) there were anumber of riders who were extremely unsafe before and after their race. At the end of the "A" race a Cole Sport rider took a U-turn on the course after he finished and as myself and 8 other chasers came around the final corner we were confronted with a rider coming right towards us. . .thankfully the chasing riders avoided this guy who obviously thought he was the only one on the course. Only seconds later as we came towards the finish line a Spin Cylcery racer preparing for the "C" race rode straight onto the course without even looking up course and I T-Boned him as I locked the tires up. . .again this FRED thought he was the only one racing. Please be respectful of ALL riders at ALL times when on your bike (racing or not). Riding and racing a bike does not afford anyone the right to cause problems for others. Stay off ALL courses until the course is deemed open by an official or called to the line and ALWAYS be on the look out for other riders/cars. RevP

Another question, I am registered for the Crit Series, and I am curious if that registraion includes running the TT or will I have to pay extra to run a TT if I want to?

New D flite/Jr and Womens Crit.

Starting March 15th (weather permitting) We will offer a separate crit for both the D flite/Jrs and the Women!

Instead of being lumped in with the C flite there will be a separate start/finish for both of these groups.
You do not need a plate...or a coach...or a fancy schmancy bike.
Just a helmet...$10..a good attitude...and let the fun begin!
We are hoping this will allow the newest beginners and youngest racers a chance to test there wings and get a feel for a pack.
Ladies this will give you a chance to do some speed work with other women without the hassle/mess of having men around.

Both groups are dependant on participation so spread the word!

The fast and the furious are going to throw down at RMR tonight 9/18 All the races are heating up but none like the battle for third in the B flite!! Can Dave Sharp hold off a hard charging Sam Moore or will the Porcupine rider eat the Barbacoa racers lunch? Remember Sam guac is extra! Tonight will tell the story!! Canyon Bicycles Crit Series has only TWO WEEKS LEFT!!

RMR Disqualification

This weeks RMR has brought up a few issues with me. I crossed the line in 2^nd place and then proceeded to go to the officials results to check. It confirmed I finished in 2^nd place. Everyone was getting out of there quickly due to the fact that the storm that hit in the last few laps of our race was getting even worse. Then a protest is placed as I am standing there saying I should be disqualified due to crossing the white line. I asked the official if they witnessed riders committing infractions. The official replied and I quote “ I saw everybody across the white line tonight.” An argument ensues between the official and rider protesting. I listen to the argument while the official says that high winds and due to everyone crossing the line, disqualifications won’t be made.

Satisfied that the results are final I leave since I now had to ride home in the awful weather. Later I check the results online to see where everyone finished. I am quite surprised to see that my name does not appear anywhere on the results. However everyone else’s names that were in the break are there. Apparently after I left the argument continued and I was disqualified.

How they came to the conclusion that only one rider in the race should be disqualified when the official clearly stated “ I saw everyone across the white line tonight” is not within my grasp of understanding. In a race when everyone in a group is across the line the entire group is usually disqualified. In special circumstances like the other night with high winds the official was clearly turning the blind eye to the infractions and allowing the group to continue. Then only after a protesting rider hounds the official after the race does a disqualification occur. One disqualification……… I fail to see the system set in place for officiating racing holding true to the occurrences of this week’s RMR.
