    Capitol Reef Classic

The organizers have made some changes! The long course on Saturday has been revised... only 81 miles now for all of the categories doing that course. The masters 55+ will be doing the medium course (52 miles) on Saturday, and they will only do 1 lap on the circuit course Friday afternoon. The juniors registration fee has been drastically reduced. They will be putting their race bible on their website this week...finally!!! And, they have scraped together a cash purse! ... Oh, one more thing they have moved the finish for the Friday morning TT, an up-hill finish. Sounds like some good improvements for an already great race!

What's up with a Friday morning TT?  How convenient is that?  I think there would be a lot more participation if this was a Friday night crit, Saturday Morning RR,  and Saturday evening TT, or something like that.   As it stands, I will have to stay in a hotel Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, since checkout is usually noon or so at the latest and I wouldn’t really want to check out before the RR.  Taking 2 days off of work and staying three nights in a hotel isn’t worth it.  For next year maybe look at rearranging the schedule so folks from the 801 can take a day off on Friday, travel down, do one of the events Friday evening, and two of the events on Saturday.  That way it would only be 1 day off of work and two nights in a hotel.  Please…

    Thanks,
    James
