• Re: Stolen Bike (Trek 2300)

I had a similar theft on Monday. Also in Murray. The bad guys got my daughter's Fuji Ace road bike while it was hanging from hooks in the garage. For some reason the morons left behind a Pinarello Prince and a Fuji D6 Pro TT bike among a few other bikes. So we're not looking at the sharpest knives in the drawer, here. My kid's bike is white, has ...

  • Re: Stolen Bike

I think there is a reasonable understanding that your bike would be safe at an event like this. I would not be surprised to see this covered in the promoters insurance. Small claims court should take care of it.

  • Re: Bikes for Kids stage race?

It looks like the categories don't match up in each race or with UCA categories. Is this right? Is it going to change?

  • Re: Category Question

One correction to Piotrek, Anyone age 35+ can race in Masters 35, regardless of Category. But the M35B field was created to give older racers with less experience a chance to race against similar competition instead of 35 year old Cat 1 and Cat 2 racers. To race in M35B, though, you must be a Cat 4 or 5. Definitely start out with a ...

  • Re: Masters A/B

Masters, actually, is precisely about age. Not ability. Cat racing is about ability. Correct? The creating of the 35B division was to factor in ability as well as age. That said, I'd be perfectly happy with Mike Hanseen's proposal or with leaving it as is. the current set up was great from my vantage point as a 35B racer with goals of ...

  • Re: Masters A/B

I liked the Masters setup the way we had it last year. I raced 35B and enjoyed the competition. I even liked having some Cat 3 racers because they pushed us, and even though they often won, they made us better. That said, I wouldn't complain if the Cat 3s raced 35A or Cat 3. From what I remember, the 35A field has never been that large and ...

  • Re: Switch to Avid Chips And Barcodes

Do I see a 'need' for chips? Not necessarily. Do I see a way that chips, if the data being fed into the computer and then coming out of the computer provides accurate results, then I'm all for them. If we were able to guarantee accurate results without chips -- and that's been pretty difficult to get, from my limited experience -- I'd ...

Yes. But those aren't 'road' races. ;)

So, after July 25's Chalk Creek race, the UCA road racing season is over, with the exception of Sanpete.
